streamlining

One of my self-appointed tasks during my weeks off is to tackle a few areas  here at home, areas which have become.... shambolic lately.

The computer room ( which seem a bit of a redundant concept/name  now everyone has mobile devices) is our fourth bedroom. It is small, and has a big mirrored wardrobe which acts as the linen cupboard, school stationery cupboard; it's also the ironing room, DVD storage room etc etc. For years, we've had the computer stuffed onto the tiny little "student desk" area you can see above - it was a bit of a squeeze.

A couple of weeks ago we pulled the  twenty years old Ikea kitchen table (from our Brunswick days), out of daughter's bedroom. It now sits under the window with the printer in the little alcove and it is so much better. Room to move! There is a picture of the old configuration of the area here. The room was painted about two and a half years ago. I still love the green, it is fresh and calm.

I've gone through the wardrobe, moved stuff around in there. It was a hot and sticky job and I've run out of steam. All the things you see in the photo below are going to the op-shop or into other areas and rooms. A big bag also went straight into the rubbish bin. Getting this stuff sorted is a job for tomorrow

I would like some more pictures hung up in here, moved from other walls in the house.
I like mixing up the pictures every year and believe me we have LOTS.

  1. Goodness you are putting me to shame. In this vile, foul weather I have been doing as little as possible. (And you are right about that green - it is fresh and serene.)

  2. Yes, I've been doing the same thing! This sticky hot weather makes me want to sit in a darkened, minimalist, almost-empty room!!

Go on, don't be shy. Promise I don't bite.
