Some holiday photos, possibly for your viewing pleasure.
Every wild beach we went to, we were searching for whales: we didn't see any, but not for want of trying. At Warrnambool there were about fifteen other people, all gazing out to sea. We wanted to believe. I found this quite touching, actually.
We stayed in a house on the Moyne River, with its own jetty. In the space of about 15 minutes, the boys caught a fish each (Australian salmon). They were a good size and good eating - the bigger fish was 50cm. This was dinner for two nights when we got home.
The house was unbelievably warm, due to under-floor heating. Shady would have been in heaven.
We bought cheese.
We had an adventure on the back road between Port Fairy and Yambuk, involving a farmer and sheep.
We had dinner at the Oldest Continually Licensed Hotel in Victoria. Old skool pub. Fun.
The somewhat..... mercurial..... personalities of some of the holiday attendees were not in evidence, much to the relief of their father and I. Good times.
Looks like a great holiday to me. Love the photos - especially the slide. Didn't see that when we were there. The one time we have been in the area, we actually dined at that pub too! It was a fabulous meal and great atmosphere. cheers Wendy
ReplyDeleteViewed with pleasure. Thankyou. I think this may be a short break we could do from East Gippsland. Probably there's a swap meet over west that would lure the Mister.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere I've always wanted to go

So many rainbows down here, it's wonderful. Still haven't been to Cheeseworld, after living here for 6 months! And STILL haven't caught fish:-( But I walk on the beach most days and have to pinch myself to believe I live in this gorgeous part of the world. Looks like you had a lovely time, so pleased.
ReplyDeletePS Just finished reading "Bring up the bodies" and can't get it out of my mind. Such a strange little period in history and so sad. Mantel is a genius! Loretta
