Wednesday is the worst day of my blogging week because I work late (for me) and my brain is always mashed potato by this time of day. Today I also went to a meeting mainly concerned with technology and because I'm not a digital native (unlike my kids), I have to concentrate really hard.
So I'm tired. BUT : I just wanted to say hello to everyone who reads here.
I have a widget at the very bottom of this blog which shows the location of my blog's readers.
Well, I am fascinated by this and from time to time go into it and look at the big map with all those twinkling little lights on it. I slowly scroll across lots of them and look to see where everyone lives.
It is doing wonders for my geography and gives me the most fantastic sense of a world without borders, where people use the Internet in a good way to read and connect and share in such a friendly fashion. I'm not selling anything here, and I'm not building a brand or marketing myself as a commodity or trying to make money or get a job: I just like keeping a public diary here on-line.
This is a very little blog but I really enjoy writing it.
So: thanks for stopping by, however you arrived here and thanks for reading.
If you like, un-lurk ( or de-lurk?) today and leave a comment to say where you live.
You can do it anonymously, I don't mind.

I'm on the Gold Coast, though I found your blog when I was living in Melbourne. Hopefully I will be living in Melbourne again in the next few months but that all depends on The Job Market.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy reading, and I must thank you for putting me onto the Rivers of London series. My copy of Book 3 arrived today and I can't wait to get into it! I have duly passed on the hype to a whole heap of colleagues too so now we've all read them.

ReplyDeleteHi LG! Wendy here, your intrepid follower and commenter.
ReplyDeleteI'm just north of Brisbane, though it is very Melbourne-like here tonight. Those maps are amazing aren't they. I look at mine in wonder at times.
Melbourne! *waves* (But you knew that x)
ReplyDeleteHi from Inverloch! Not so very far away from where you are, especially in life-themes. I read every day. Thanks for making it public for us to share.
ReplyDeleteHello from the banks of the lovely Whanganui River, New Zealand. I came here from some other craft or library blog and stayed! Loretta
ReplyDeleteYou brighten up my Mondays to Thursdays here, on the other side of the Westgate Bridge, in Laverton North. I like keeping up with what's going on in my new relo's lives and enjoy your observations. It's 'almost' like being there. Must catch up in the flesh soon though. N x
ReplyDeleteYou know where I am - marvellous Melbourne!

ReplyDeleteI'm in Taupo, NZ. My bedroom window looks out on the lake and the volcanoes - heaven for a rental! I'm an American expat and I'm not sure how I found you, but I love books and the desire to live simply. Thanks for writing this.....
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for commenting! Now I can see those red lights on the map and picture people's names!
ReplyDeleteHi, Denise, Denmark in the deep south of WA! I've been watching The Tour, too but mainly for the magnifique landscape and architecture, I confess. Was lucky enough to visit Paris recently, and glimpsed a little of the countryside through the train windows on my way from there to Berlin, and now I'm a tad obsessed with everything French and want to go back and see more.
ReplyDeleteLibrarian here! Paterson NJ is what my location says on your globy app. I found you because I was googling Austin Friars, wondering if it was still standing. Still on the first book, Wolf Hall. Loving it. Not that big into fiction these days, way more non-fic, but this book fits into my head nicely, and looking forward to Bodies, and hopefully more! I live in Jersey City, across the Hudson from Manhattan, and have a great pal 2 blocks from me who's a Brisbane native.
ReplyDeleteknitting too? buzz me next time you're up to it :-)
ReplyDeleteDen Haag, The Netherlands
ReplyDeleteHello! The Netherlands is on my list of places I want to visit!
