I'm not a celebrator of this day but could not resist posting these vintage Valentines, food and gardening themed. I'm not linking the sources because I would imagine copyright has expired and they have mainly been posted on craft blogs as free resources. I did buy the family a chocolate each, for dessert tonight. Big spender! (not).
Wow, those valentines are equal parts cute and sinister. Do they represent the consuming nature of romantic love? Or carnal appetite? Maybe both- it's interesting how love and eating are so often paired.
